Father

What is a father? A father is a figure in one's life that provides security in the face of fear. He is the go to guy when things go wrong. A father is more than a bio donor for life. He is the power that builds character and self worth. He is the one that we look to for guidance.

I am not much for heart felt words. There is no way I can truly describe what is is to be a father. I am one, myself, and I have no idea how I am defined.

To me, a father is the first man in a person's life that provides comfort in times of trouble. He is the enforcer when we do wrong. I believe Holly Dunn said it best "Daddy's hands weren't always gentle but I've come to understand...There was always love in Daddy's hands".

I lost my father, today. The man I always saw as invincible, laying on a hospital bed, motionless. I had to be the strong one. I had to be there for my mother and sister. As hard as it was, I fought back tears until my mother told me it was ok to cry. She knew I was trying to be strong. She knew I was trying to be the pillar for the family. I'm not a weak man but she knew I couldn't hold back forever, mothers know these things.

I'm going to Tennessee tomorrow to be with my family. My father was raised there and he will be buried next to his mother and father. He was a very politically motivated man. I will continue my time in hunting down the wrongs in our system. He knew I was big into politics. We didn't always share the same ideas but he repected me for my thoughts, and me him.

Finances will be tight and I will be moving in with my mother at the end of the month to help her cover bills until the house is paid off. That is what family is for. I just had to get this off my chest and the only outlet I have is writing.

I am still working on my series dealing with the Bill of Rights. I will pick back up once everything is settled down. I don't know how many readers I have, if any, but I felt it was needed for me to explain why things have been slow in coming in my posts.

I hope to get into full swing after the end of the month. Maybe sooner.

Thank you all for reading and if you feel inclined to help with finances, please do so. I have a donation button to the right. I'm not requesting but it would certainly help and be very much appreciated.

Father's Day is coming up. Remember to tell your fathers how much you love them. You never know when they will be gone and you lose that chance.

If anyone wants to views the works of this man in his political views, his Web site is http://www.rlt54.com

Thank you, and God bless.
